The Governing Body at Blakenhale Junior School welcome you to our website.
As a governing body it is not only our legal responsibility, but also our moral commitment to ensure that every child attending our school whatever their background or their circumstances, achieves their full educational potential, is given the opportunity to be involved in extra curricula activities and has pastoral care to help them mature into responsible, confident and independent individuals.
We endeavour to ensure that every pupil has the support they need to:
Enjoy and achieve
Make a positive contribution
Achieve economic well-being
These are the principles of the ‘Every Child Matters’ green paper, which was introduced by the government in 2003 to ensure that our children are given the best opportunities to be successful in the future.
As governors it is our role to monitor, to challenge and to assist the Head Teacher and Staff at Blakenhale Juniors in every way we can to achieve these objectives and ensure that the staff and students have a safe and pleasant environment in which to achieve.
As a school at the heart of the community, we are currently putting together our plans to promote the ‘Extended Schools’ programme for Blakenhale, where we hope to offer support and learning for the community from 8 o’clock in the morning until 6 o’clock at night. Watch this Space!
By working together as a team, Blakenhale Juniors is on its way to meeting its aim of becoming the ‘Leading KS2 School’ in the area.
